A friend I spotted!

Today, as I was walking around my garden, I found a beautiful butterfly just sitting idle on a yellow rose. As I was using a 18-55 mm lens, I had to move very close to the subject. Although I thought the insect would fly away when I would go near it, it didn't. Moreover, it posed like a model. Got the correct exposure setting and clicked it. Into the frames! There was some unnecessary elements in the frame, which I had removed by cropping using Adobe Lightroom. I hope you will like this pic and feel free to comment!

A sneak peek: Make Retro

Make Retro is an easy online application that allows you to add some wonderful filters to your photos. You may either upload a picture from your computer or just add an URL of the image. The site has a total of 6 filter which seem to be very helpful for those who just want to make their photos look wonderful in a limited time.

The site doesn't have any complicated steps. You just need to select an image, choose an effect and click on 'Create Image'. That's it! Your image will be ready in no time. You also have an option to whether have retro on or off. The simple filters include Lomo, Chrome, Diana, Vintage, Technicolor 2 and Technicolor 3. Once you have added a filter and created an image, you can easily save it by right clicking on the image and  clicking 'Save image as'. Looks easy, isn't it? So, give it a try guys, picture ready in seconds.

Bokeh in the background

'Bokeh' is one of the most exciting element in photography. Bokeh  is similar to blur. You can get bokeh by keeping something unfocused at less f stop number(aperture). Bokehs will seem very exciting when you have subject, and the background is blurred(out of focus).

For bokeh to appear you need to have some light source behind your subject. When these light sources are out of focus, it will cause bokeh. In these pictures, my light source was sunlight passing through patterned leaves and trees. Your source may be natural like sunlight or artificial like small bulbs. You can even avoid bokeh. You can do this by setting your camera to larger F stop number(aperture). This will actually reduce the blur.

It is better to have bokeh when you are shooting pictures of flowers, small objects or products. If you haven't heard and known about bokeh, then give it a try!

Edits using Photo Funky

Today I just bumped into one of the apps on Chrome store named Photo funky. Once I downloaded this app, I was surprised with the number of effects it had. Actually, I had been looking for some photo editing app because I found Photoshop too time consuming. Although Photoshop is the best photo editing software, you can use simple apps which provides you a wide variety of filters to transform your images. Today morning, I had taken some snaps using my Sony Cyber-shot which had become useful to try out Photo funky. I will surely try to give a review of Photo funky lately. Okay then, bye!

The camera you use doesn't matter!

One thing everyone should keep in mind is that in photography, the camera you use doesn't matter a lot! A camera with even 2 megapixels can also take wonderful pictures. All you need is a good sight for wonderful things around you and a heart that can feel them. Usually, there is a wrong thought in the minds of some photographers. They think that only 'super' cameras can make better pictures. But that is wrong, I can't give a long explanation about this, but I can make you understand through some videos. Click here to watch the videos!

I thought why can't I prove this. I had not used my old camera- Sony DSC-T77, a compact camera. If you are good at photography you must be able to take wonderful pictures with whatever equipment you have! I took my old camera, and took some snaps. Some pictures I took didn't look pleasing, so I edited them using Picmonkey. Thanks for reading, hope you people will like these pictures. Do comment!

A Random Tip

Hi everybody! Yes, today I will be sharing with you a photography tip. I had read this on one of the photography magazines, I can't name that because I just forgot! Okay, let's leave that. The tip is that try to convey a story from your picture. That's the best way you can make your photos look better.

Just clicking on pictures is not a good practice. Before you click a snap, just stop for a moment, relax, just think, what story am I going to convey through the picture? And once you get the answer just click the snap! Once you have done this, you will be surely happy with the results.

You can also convey stories to your viewers through some effects on your photo. For example if you are taking a photo of an old man, then set your camera to shoot the picture in B&W. This will just give that 'old look' to your photo. If you are showing anger in your photo(through any subject) then show much of red colour because red colour. And if you are represent cheerfulness, then go for bright colours! Just try this simple method, and look at the improvements. Thanks for reading, and do comment.

The Macro World!

This is the picture I had taken some days back. The title of the post says it all. After spending hours finding flowers between some bushes, I managed to click this picture of a tiny little flower. The flower look 'cute' as it was so tiny with bright white petals. The background was filled with other flower of the same kind. I had choose a dark exposure setting for this photo as it gave an exciting effect. I hope you will like this picture and thanks for reading!

That's a lock!

'That's a lock!' is my recent work. This is the lock of a shed in my house. It looked old and historical. To give it a vintage look I set the camera to Black and White. As a result, it looked amazing! I corrected the exposure and contrast using Adobe Lightroom. Later, I uploaded this picture on 500px and on my Facebook page. I got a lot of positive comments for this wonderful picture.
I thought of showing this picture to my blog readers. So here it is! Hope you will like it. Thanks for reading! :)
