What's going to be my next lens?

It's been so long that I have posted anything. Sorry for that! Okay, lets get to the post. Lenses are one of the basic components of a photographer's gear. My first lens was the Nikon 18-55 mm lens, one of the basic and cheapest lens you will find in the market. I have had a great journey with this multiutility lens, so far! And now its time for me to look for my next lens. In this post I will tell you which will be my next lens and what was my procedure in selecting a new lens.

Professional Photographers say that buy a cheap camera body and a costly lens. But I made that mistake by not following this! I still repent for that. Considering my budget, about Rs 50,000, I had to buy a camera body and a lens. D5100 was one of the best DSLR below the price point of Rs 50k. I had a wrong notion that better camera body makes better pictures. I bought the D5100 in which I got the 18-55 mm lens as a Kit lens.

Actually, what I had to do is to buy a cheaper lens of about Rs 25k and buy a good lens, say for example the Nikon 18-125 mm lens, which costs 19k!

Past is past! SO now what's going to be my next lens? Before that, lets see some of the things to keep in mind.

  • My budget for my next lens is below 15k.
  • I usually work on macros.
  • I would like to have a super-zoom lens.
  • A lens with good performance and decent image quality.
  • Of course, it should be compatible with my D5100!
Considering all these things, the lens I am going to buy is the Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro.

Some Things about Tamron 70-300mm Di LD Macro

I made a deep research on this lens. I checked the review of this lens, talked about it with many photographers and I have got some conclusions on it. This lens is user-friendly, has good performance, decent image quality, and also has a good build quality. The best part is that it costs about Rs 10k! There are some more exciting features about this product. It has button which allows the user to chose the normal or the macro mode. And ya! It can zoom till 300mm, which will allow me to to shoot birds and other animals from a far range.

I hope to buy this lens, maybe next year. Still I need to top my skills using the basic 18-55 mm lens. That's all in this post guys! Don't forget to leave a comment and do follow my blog. More in the next post, Cheers!
